Fruit Puddings

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the soda biscuit dough as directed on page 102.

  2. Roll out the dough until stiff enough to handle.

  3. Place sliced apples or berries in the center of the dough.

  4. Roll the dough around the fruit and pinch the edges to seal.

  5. Place the dumplings in a pan with a little water and bake until golden brown.

  6. Alternatively, fill a deep pie plate with fruit, cover with rolled-out dough, and bake until the crust is brown.

  7. Sweeten the fruit after baking, then serve the pie warm.
