To Boil Rice

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pick over the rice carefully and wash it in warm water, rubbing it between your hands. Rinse it in several waters, then let it soak in cold water until ready to cook.

  2. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add a little coarse sea salt.

  3. Pour off the cold water from the rice and gradually sprinkle the rice into the boiling water to keep the grains separated.

  4. Boil the rice steadily for 20 minutes, then remove it from the heat and drain all the water.

  5. Place the saucepan with the lid slightly off on the back of the stove, where it is moderately warm, to allow the rice to dry.
