Walnut Rout Cakes

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the paste as in No. 272.

  2. Leave one-third of the paste uncolored and color the remainder light brown with grated chocolate and ground cloves.

  3. Use a walnut shell model to shape the brown paste into halves.

  4. Cut off excess paste to level it with the model.

  5. Carefully remove the model and place the shaped halves flat on a waxed baking plate to dry.

  6. Use the uncolored paste to model the walnut kernels in the same manner.

  7. Dry and bake both parts until complete.

  8. Stick the halves together to form a walnut shape and dry a little longer in the screen.
