What each ingredient does

Cream
Adds richness and a smooth, creamy texture that softens the icy bite of the frozen fruit.
Sugar
Sweetens the dish and lowers the freezing point, keeping the mixture softer when frozen.
Peaches
Provide the main fruit flavour and body of the dessert.

The step that matters

Stir in the cream near the point of freezing. If the mixture is fully frozen, the cream will not blend evenly and may leave lumps or streaks. Stirring while it is almost frozen lets the cream fold in smoothly, and mixing from top to bottom distributes it through the whole batch.

Swap the peach

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (cream, sugar):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Strawberryfits better
  3. Raspberryfits better
  4. Peachthe original

Fit is the average pairing score against cream, sugar. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
