Fritox of Creme of Pheasant

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Glaze the top of the pie with a mixture of yolk of egg and a little water.

  3. Bake the pie until done.

  4. While baking, prepare a top from puff pastry.

  5. Cut a hole in the top of the pie before or after baking, but do not remove the pastry piece until after baking.

  6. Fill the hole with brown or Italian sauce.

  7. Place the puff pastry top over the hole and serve.
