Mustard Bath and Mustard Pack
Ingredients
Directions
Dissolve the mustard powder in a gallon of warm water.
Add the rest of the water to prepare the bath.
For the mustard pack, use a smaller quantity of water prepared as above.
Ensure the water temperature is about 100°F, raising to 105°F with hot water if necessary.
Soak for about 10 minutes while rubbing the skin, then rinse with lukewarm water.
Dry quickly, wrap in a blanket, and allow to rest.
For the mustard pack, wrap the naked child in a blanket soaked in the prepared water.
Leave the child in the pack until the skin is reddened (about 10 to 20 minutes).
Wash off with warm water, then rinse with lukewarm water, dry, and put to bed without dressing.
