To Preserve Walnuts White
Ingredients
Directions
Pare the walnuts until the white appears.
Soak them in salt and water.
Boil in soft water for 5 minutes.
Lay them between two cloths until making syrup.
Boil gently in syrup for 4-5 minutes, then jar them tightly.
The next day, boil again and prepare fresh thick syrup with ginger and mace.
Boil the walnuts in the syrup, then jar them with brandy papers on top, sealing with bladders.
