Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Yogurt
Adds creamy moisture and a tangy flavor that loosens the rice mixture.
Butter
Carries the onion and garlic flavor and adds richness as they soften.
Cashew nuts
Add crunch and a toasty, nutty contrast to the soft rice.
Coconut
Adds sweetness and a chewy, aromatic texture.
Tomatoes
Add acidity and moisture that give the rice a savory base.

The step that matters

Fold in yogurt. Yogurt can split or turn watery when it meets heat. Folding it in gently, and heating only until warm, keeps the dressing creamy and stable.
