Directions

Make the sauce base

  1. Heat oil in a nonstick skillet.

What each ingredient does

Chicken breast
Provides the main protein; stir-frying until white cooks it through while keeping it tender.
Brown gravy mix
Thickens the liquid into a glossy sauce as it comes to a boil.
Brown sugar
Adds sweetness that balances the soy sauce and pineapple juice.
Pineapple chunks
Contribute sweetness and acidity, along with juice that forms the sauce base.
Soy sauce
Adds salty, savory depth to the sauce.
Snow peas
Add crisp texture when simmered only briefly until crisp-tender.

The step that matters

Simmering the snow peas. Snow peas turn dull and limp with long cooking. Adding them late and simmering only briefly keeps them crisp-tender, with bright color and a fresh bite.
