What each ingredient does

Flour
Forms the structure of the dough that holds the sticks together.
Baking powder
Releases gas in the dough so the breadsticks rise and turn light.
Milk
Adds moisture and richness, helping the dough come together and brown.
Sugar
Adds sweetness and helps the surface brown in the oven.
