What each ingredient does
- Yeast
- Ferments the dough, producing gas that helps it rise and gives it a light texture.
- All-purpose flour
- Forms the gluten network that gives the crust its structure and chew.
- Olive oil
- Adds fat that softens the crust and contributes tenderness and flavor.
