Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Chickens
Provides the main meat, which becomes tender through slow cooking in seasoned liquid.
Peas
Adds sweetness and a soft texture to the filling.
Potatoes
Adds starch and body, helping the filling feel hearty.
Button onions
Adds savory depth and aroma to the filling.

The step that matters

Pour off liquid and let stand until cool enough to remove all bones and skin.. Thickened cooking liquid is poured over the assembled pie, so the stock should be separated and cooled enough to handle safely. Removing all bones keeps the filling safe and easy to eat.

Swap the peas

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (chicken, potato, onion):

  1. Sesamefits better
  2. Peanutfits better
