To Cook a Leg of Mutton

Ingredients

Directions

  1. MRS. BELLE WARD.

  2. Put the mutton into warm water, with salt and one small red pepper; boil until tender, allowing the water to boil nearly away; then take it out, and if not seasoned enough, sprinkle with salt, pepper and flour, place in a hot oven with the broth, and bake half an hour, basting often until the meat is a light brown.
