Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderately hot oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Roll the coffee-cake dough into a sheet ¼ inch thick.

  2. Cut the dough into strips.

  3. Brush the strips with melted butter.

  4. Dust with sugar and cinnamon.

  5. Roll the strips into shape.

  6. Place them 1 inch apart on a buttered pan.

  7. Let them rise for 1 hour.

  8. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C).
