Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Eggs
Whites trap air for lift while yolks add richness and set the structure of the omelet.
Butter
Adds fat for flavour and helps the omelet brown in the pan.
Sugar
Sweetens the omelet and helps stabilise the whipped egg whites.

The step that matters

Fold the whipped egg whites into the yolk mixture. Folding gently keeps the air in the whites. Stirring or beating hard deflates them, leaving a flatter, denser omelet.
