Oyster Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Cover a deep pie plate with puff pastry and add an extra layer around the edge.

  3. Bake the pastry until golden brown.

  4. Fill the baked pie with oysters.

  5. Season with pepper, coarse sea salt, and butter.

  6. Dust a little flour over the oysters.

  7. Cover with a thin layer of puff pastry.

  8. Bake until the top crust is golden and the oysters are cooked.

  9. Serve immediately to prevent the crust from absorbing the gravy.
