Medley Cake

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, mix the sugar and beaten egg yolks until creamy.

  3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy.

  4. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the sugar and yolk mixture.

  5. Stir in the flour and lemon flavor lightly.

  6. In a separate bowl, mix the chocolate, hot butter, and flour together.

  7. Combine the chocolate mixture with the sugar and egg mixture.

  8. Cut each cake into rings of different sizes.

  9. Stack the rings according to taste and fill them with preserve.
