Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a slow oven”. The 300°F (150°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Roll out the biscuit dough as thin as possible.

  2. Sprinkle a thin layer of grated cheese over the dough.

  3. Fold the dough together and roll it out very thin again.

  4. Sprinkle with grated cheese and repeat this process three times.

  5. Roll out the dough one last time and cut into narrow strips, about the length of your middle finger.

  6. Bake in a 300°F (150°C) oven until light brown.
