  1. If using sausage meat, shape it into sausage forms.

  2. Roll out the shortcake dough to about ⅓ inch thick.

  3. Cut the dough into pieces about 5 inches long and trim the edges.

  4. Place a sausage on one half of the dough, fold the other half over, and press the edges together to seal.

  5. Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven for 30 minutes.
