Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Layer sliced raw potatoes in a baking dish.

  2. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt, black pepper, and add pieces of butter.

  3. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.

  4. Dissolve a pinch of baking soda in enough milk to nearly cover the potatoes and pour over them.

  5. Cover the dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes.
