To Boil Rice

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pick over the rice carefully and wash it in warm water, rubbing it between your hands.

  2. Rinse the rice in several waters, then let it soak in cold water until ready to cook.

  3. In a saucepan, bring salted water to a boil.

  4. Pour off the cold water from the rice and gradually sprinkle the rice into the boiling water to keep the grains separated.

  5. Boil steadily for 20 minutes, then remove from heat and drain all the water.

  6. Place the saucepan partially covered on the back of the stove to allow the rice to dry.
