Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Gelatine
Sets the liquid into a firm, sliceable jelly as it cools.
Sugar
Adds sweetness and helps balance the tart citrus juices.
Orange juice
Provides the main flavour and most of the liquid in the jelly.
Lemon juice
Adds acidity that brightens the orange flavour.

The step that matters

Dissolve the gelatine with the boiling water. Gelatine must dissolve fully in hot water before the juices are added, or it will not set evenly and may leave grainy or rubbery spots in the jelly.
