Griddle-cakes and Waffles
Ingredients
Directions
Acquire a soapstone griddle if possible; keep it clean and free of grease.
Heat the soapstone slowly before using.
After use, wash the griddle and waffle irons with hot water and a tablespoon of ammonia per quart.
If disused, rub with dry salt before heating and greasing.
Use a small amount of cottolene on a cloth or fat salt pork on a fork to grease the surface.
