Sausage Rolls

Oven, in the book's wordsA quick oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a quick oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Make a rich pie paste and roll it out thin.

  2. Cut large discs from the paste using a cookie cutter or canister lid.

  3. Place a small cooked sausage on the edge of each circle of paste.

  4. Roll the paste around the sausage and pinch the ends together.

  5. Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven and serve hot or cold.

Recipe from a historical cookbook (Internet Archive).
