Mince Meat

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Seed the raisins and soak them with the currants in just enough water to cover.

  2. Stew until tender, then let cool and add the water to the other ingredients.

  3. Mix thoroughly, stirring in the melted butter last.

  4. Let it stand for several days.

  5. For flavor, you may omit the brandy and wine and use more lemons and oranges.

  6. At each baking, add a little sugar and chopped apple.

  7. This will keep all winter or longer in a cool place if the brandy and wine are not omitted.
