Brown Flour Mush

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a kettle, bring 2 pints of water to a boil.

  2. Mix a small amount of brown meal with cold water until thick, like starch.

  3. Pour the mixture into the boiling water, stirring continuously.

  4. Add more dry brown meal until the mixture is as thick as ordinary mush.

  5. Thin the mixture with more boiling water to reach a starch-like consistency.

  6. Allow it to come to a boil again, then pour into molds.

  7. Serve as you would cracked wheat.
