Veal Pie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Make an inch-thick paste and roll it out.

  2. Cut an oval piece for the bottom crust.

  3. Cut a ring an inch thick and half an inch wide, and lay it around the edge of the bottom piece.

  4. Place it in a pan and bake until golden brown.

  5. Cut a lid to fit inside the ring and bake it; keep it hot until ready to fill.

  6. Cut the veal into small pieces and place in a saucepan with ½ cup of water.

  7. Season with salt, pepper, and butter, then dredge in flour.

  8. Pour in 2 tablespoons of cream and let it boil once or twice.

  9. Fill the crust with the veal mixture and cover with the lid.

  10. Serve immediately.
