Beefsteak Pie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Flatten the thinly sliced steaks and season with mixed spices, coarse sea salt, and black pepper.

  2. Layer the seasoned steaks in the bottom of a baking dish, adding bits of boiled onion and fresh butter if desired.

  3. Fill the dish two-thirds full, sprinkling onion between each layer of meat.

  4. Pour 1 pint of boiling water seasoned with walnut ketchup over the meat.

  5. Allow the dish to cool, then cover it with pie crust, creating an ornamented top.

  6. Make a center ornament in the crust to add hot liquid if needed before serving.
