Mince Pie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove cores and blossom ends from apples and chop them finely with skins on.

  2. Wash raisins, seed them, and wash currants.

  3. Cook raisins and currants together in a saucepan with 4 cups of water for 30 minutes.

  4. Grate the rind from the lemons and add it along with the lemon juice to the fruit mixture.

  5. Mix all ingredients together and cook for 4 to 5 hours, stirring often. Add more water if it becomes too dry.

  6. Once cooked, you can put the mixture in glass jars while hot and seal them for long-term storage.

  7. Before filling the pie, place a little butter over the filling.
