Ingredients

Directions

  1. Layer the prepared apples, raisins, currants, and dates in a stewing kettle.

  2. Add a layer of sliced Graham bread, repeating the layers until the kettle is nearly full.

  3. Pour cold water into the kettle until it reaches within 2 inches of the top.

  4. Simmer slowly without burning until the bread and fruit are thoroughly soft.

  5. Serve warm or cold. Optionally, add grated coconut for flavor.
