Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Green peas
Break down into a thick body that gives the soup its color and texture.
Cabbage lettuces
Contribute vegetable flavor and body to the broth.
Onions
Build savory aromatic flavor in the broth.
Turnips
Add earthy vegetable flavor and body to the broth.
Carrots
Add gentle sweetness and color to the broth.

The step that matters

Rubbing the peas through a cloth. Pushing the softened peas through a cloth separates the fine pulp from the skins and fibers. Skipping or rushing this step leaves the soup grainy and uneven in texture.

Swap the mace

  1. Parsleyfits better
  2. Thymefits better
