  1. Mix all ingredients together, using the juice and grated rind of two lemons.

  2. Boil the mixture very slowly until the whole raisins are cooked.

  3. Fill the pies with the mixture, dot with bits of butter, sprinkle with sugar and a bit of nutmeg, and cover with a top crust.
