To Boil Corn on the Cob
Ingredients
Directions
The book gives no cooking times; the times in the steps were added in transcription, so check for doneness rather than trusting the clock.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add unhusked corn to the boiling water.
Boil until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain the corn well.
Remove some of the outer husks before serving, or break the cobs from the husks just before serving.
Transcribed from a scanned cookbook and modernised for today's kitchens. Where the book gave no heat or time, or said "a moderate oven", the temperatures and times here may be modern equivalents rather than the book's own figures.
