Mixed Pickle

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large jar with a tightly-fitting lid, pour in 1 gallon of vinegar, reserving a little to mix with the powders.

  2. In a basin, combine mustard, turmeric, black pepper, and cayenne. Mix with reserved vinegar until smooth.

  3. Add the mixture to the vinegar and stir well.

  4. Keep the jar in a warm place and stir thoroughly every morning for about a month.

  5. On a dry day, gather the vegetables and wipe them with a cloth to remove moisture.

  6. Divide the cauliflowers into small bunches and add all the raw vegetables to the pickle.

  7. At the end of the season, store the mixture in jars and cover with a bladder.

  8. Note that this pickle will not be ready for eating for several months.
