Green Peas

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Shell the fresh peas just before cooking.

  2. Soak shelled peas in cold water for at least 1 hour if they are stale or wilted.

  3. Bring a kettle of salted water to a boil and add the peas.

  4. Boil young peas for 20 minutes and mature peas for 40 minutes until tender.

  5. Do not drain the water; there should be just enough to serve with the peas.

  6. Add butter, salt, and pepper to taste, and serve hot.
