  1. Pare and core the apples.

  2. Roll out the light-bread dough to ½ inch thick and cut into round pieces.

  3. Wrap each apple in the dough until well covered.

  4. Place the dumplings in a steamer and let them rise.

  5. Set the steamer over a pot of boiling water and steam until cooked.

  6. Serve with butter and sugar, or cream.
