Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Soak the ham in cold water for 12 hours.

  2. Parboil the ham in fresh water.

  3. Remove the ham from the kettle.

  4. Spread a batter of flour and water over the top of the ham.

  5. Bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes per pound.

  6. When done, remove the batter and place the ham in a cool place.
