Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Raspberries
Provide the main fruit flavor, tartness and color.
Heavy cream
Adds fat for richness and a smooth, thick body.
Sugar
Sweetens the tart fruit and balances its acidity.

The step that matters

Let it sit on the sieve for 1 hour. Resting for the full hour lets excess liquid drain and the mixture chill and thicken, so the dessert holds its shape when served.

Swap the raspberry

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (sugar, cream):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Strawberryfits about as well
  3. Raspberrythe original
