Potatoes and Onions

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Boil the potatoes in their skins until tender. Peel while hot and slice them.

  2. Slice the onions and let them stand in salt water for about an hour.

  3. In a skillet, cook the onions with a little ham gravy or butter and a little water until slightly softened.

  4. In a vegetable dish, layer the onions and potatoes alternately, finishing with a layer of potatoes on top.

  5. Add 1 cup of vinegar to the skillet with the ham gravy or butter, warm it, and pour over the layered dish.
