Beefsteak Pie

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Broil the steaks over a brisk fire until cooked to your liking.

  2. Remove the bones from the steaks.

  3. In a pie dish, lay a thin layer of pie crust.

  4. Place the broiled steaks on the crust.

  5. Top with boiled potatoes and fried onions.

  6. Cover with another layer of pie crust and seal the edges.

  7. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven until the crust is golden brown.
