Mocha Cake

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Make the cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, egg whites, milk, sugar, baking powder, flour, salt, and vanilla until well combined.

  3. Pour the batter into a square tin and bake for 20 minutes.

Frost and finish

  1. Once baked, turn the cake out onto a board and cut it into small squares.

  2. For the frosting, mix melted butter, powdered sugar, cocoa, and flavor with vanilla and strong coffee.

  3. Frost the squares and roll them in finely chopped walnut meats.
