Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Sugar
Provides sweetness and, when cooked, the structure that sets the candy.
Milk
Adds moisture and creaminess to the candy base.
Butter
Adds fat for a smooth, rich texture.

The step that matters

Beat the mixture until it is creamy. Beating while the candy is partly cooled encourages fine sugar crystals, giving a smooth texture rather than a grainy or hard one.

Swap the raisin

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (coffee, sugar, milk, walnut, butter, nuts):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Figfits better
  3. Coconutfits better
  4. Raisinthe original

Fit is the average pairing score against coffee, sugar, milk, walnut, butter, nuts. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
