Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Gelatine
Forms a network that traps the liquid, so the juice sets into a firm jelly.
Sugar
Sweetens the jelly and adds body to its texture as it sets.
Oranges
Juice supplies most of the liquid and the main orange flavour.
Lemon
Adds acidity that brightens the sweetness and sharpens the flavour.

The step that matters

Bring to a boil, then strain into molds to cool.. Gelatin loses setting strength when it is boiled hard or for too long, so the jelly may fail to firm up. Bring the mixture just to a boil, then pour it out promptly to cool.
