Cottage Cheese

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pour milk into a pan and place it in a cool room with fresh air. Do not cover the pan.

  2. If the room is dusty, cover the pan with cheesecloth supported by sticks.

  3. When the milk thickens, place the pan in a larger pan with warm water and keep it warm until the curd separates without hardening.

  4. Line a colander with cheesecloth and pour the milk into it. Let it drain for several hours until the whey is completely removed.

  5. Finely chop green peppers or onions and mix them with the cheese. Add a little salt and pepper.

  6. Serve with apple or potato salad, or spread on sandwiches. Optionally, add sugar and caraway seeds instead of onion and pepper.
