Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Peel and core the apples.

  2. Fill each apple with apricot jam.

  3. Wrap the apples in very thinly rolled-out puff pastry.

  4. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.

  5. Shape the wrapped apples to resemble real apples using coils of thin puff pastry.

  6. Add a piece of cinnamon as a stalk for each apple.

  7. Bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until golden.

  8. Glaze with sugar before serving.
