Marble Cake

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, cream together the powdered sugar and butter.

  3. Add the sweet milk, flour, egg whites, and baking powder; mix well.

  4. In another bowl, combine the dark sugar, molasses, butter, sour milk, and egg yolks; mix until smooth.

  5. Butter your cake mold.

  6. Pour the dark and light batter into the mold in alternate tablespoonfuls.
