Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Gelatin
Sets the liquid into a firm, sliceable gel as it cools.
Sweet almonds
Provide the main almond flavor and creamy body once pounded and strained.
Milk
Adds richness and a soft, creamy texture to the set dessert.
Sugar
Sweetens the dessert and helps grind the almonds into a smooth paste.

The step that matters

Simmer gently until the gelatin melts. Gelatin needs gentle heat to dissolve fully; boiling can weaken its setting power and make the gel less firm.
