Chantilly Cake, or Cake Trifle
Ingredients
Directions
Bake a rich cake in a mould.
Hollow out the cake to receive the custard.
Option 1: Use an inner mould, butter its outside, and form the cake around it.
Bake, then remove the inner mould to create space for the custard.
Option 2: Fill the regular tin, bake, and carefully cut out the inside of the cake.
Fill the hollow with thick rich custard.
Add a thin layer of raspberry jam on top.
Finish with whipped cream.
