Green Walnuts in Allegar
Ingredients
Directions
Gather walnuts before the shells are hard.
Wrap each walnut in a vine leaf.
Place a few leaves in the bottom of a jar and fill it with walnuts, ensuring they do not touch.
Cover the walnuts with more vine leaves and fill the jar with good allegar.
Seal the jar to keep out air and let it stand for three weeks.
After three weeks, pour out the allegar and place fresh leaves in a new jar.
Remove the walnuts and wrap them in fresh leaves quickly.
