Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Eggs
Provide the structure that sets into the omelet's body as they cook.
Butter
Adds richness and helps the omelet brown and release from the pan.
Cream
Adds moisture and a softer, more tender texture to the eggs.
Shallot
Adds a mild, sweet onion-like aroma and flavor.

The step that matters

Stirring the eggs in the pan. Stirring while the eggs are still liquid creates small, soft curds that keep the omelet tender. Stirring too long or too hard can make it tough and dry, and the eggs should be left to set before rolling.
